About Therapy

Most people can feel a little apprehensive about seeing a psychotherapist. In the initial consultation you will have a chance to come and air your anxieties and thoughts and to ask any questions you may have and to decide if psychotherapy and the Therapist are right for you.

Psychotherapy involves a series of stages and development and is a process. It is important you feel safe and comfortable enough.

I offer one to one psychotherapy sessions lasting 50 minutes mainly face to face in my consulting room and Skype sessions are also available after face to face meetings.

It is not possible to specify the duration of psychotherapy at the outset. Sometimes short term work is sufficient and at other times longer term work is more useful. We will work together with regular reviews as we go along and the decision to end the work will be a joint one.

I am happy to have a talk on the phone to help you decide if you want to come for an initial session where you will have the opportunity to experience how I work and see if you feel comfortable to work with me. It is also an opportunity for me to find out if I can be of use to you.
